The hopes – on both sides – say that a bad last-minute decision about who voters prefer is not true.

In many parts of the battleground states on the East Coast, the election is not yet over and the counting of votes has not begun. An early picture of this historic presidential race is only now emerging.

While the final outcome is not yet clear, we will say that tensions are running high in America.

For Georgia and North Carolina – states where Donald Trump doesn’t win – the former presidents are doing even better in traditional rural areas than in 2020.

Kamala Harris has matched Joe Biden’s overall score in urban and suburban districts, but so far she’s not doing well.

As the difference in vote totals changes, Trump’s victories for Georgia and North Carolina mean all eyes are turning back to the Democratic “blue wall” states along the Great Lakes. Dis fit gives Harris a better advantage to secure the win.

At this point, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania will be her best — perhaps only — path to the White House. And for Pennsylvania, that means getting out early isn’t possible.
