You sent us your reaction to Chelsea’s sale of Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid after the England international said his 18-year stay at the club had made his “dreams come true”.

Here are some of your thoughts:

Harvey: Our owners have no idea, unfortunately. Before them we were extremely well managed and champions. Now we have wasted over a billion pounds with no clear plan or structure. Numbers are out of control and we have a manager who kneels before Pep Guardiola. Selling Conor Gallagher is like selling Frank Lampard – and that obviously didn’t happen! Go home, Todd.

Thomas: It’s just awful. Last season it was Mount, now it’s Gallagher and Chalobah will probably follow! We’re just numbers on a spreadsheet that needs to be balanced for Todd Boehly – and I’m not sure he’s even good at that! I know football is a business but it’s also about keeping the players who understand what it means to represent the club.

Peter: He had to be sold to make the Joao Felix deal happen. He turned down a new contract. The only way to get a transfer fee for him was to buy Joao Felix from Atletico so they could buy Gallagher from us. Conor always gave 100% but he lacked finishing or often lost the ball. I wish him the best of luck for the future.

Rod: Chelsea should be ashamed. Another loyal and homegrown player has been sold. I have been a Chelsea fan for 66 years but I am starting to question their policies because I feel the club is going backwards.

Fossie: Another good academy product lost. When will these owners finally understand that you can’t buy success? The backbone of any team has to be those who are the heart and soul of the club – the academy players. These owners are wasting money on heartless players who owe the club nothing but still get a salary. Something has to change.

Bernie: I’m glad to be rid of him. He keeps saying that playing for Chelsea is “a dream come true” but after several contract offers and being named captain (albeit only as a reserve), he decides to leave. The constant rumours that he is moving on can now thankfully come to an end.
