In the latest episode of her Let’s be honest PodcastThe Laguna Beach Alum admitted she declined Bobby Flay when he slid into her DMs and asked her out to dinner — but he said it was actually a big misunderstanding.

“I DM’d you and said to you… ‘I’m going to be in Nashville for a night, can I take you out to dinner?'” the celebrity chef said. “And you literally told me, ‘I’m already dating someone.'”

However, Cavallari had a slightly different version of events.

“Or I thought, ‘I’ve just had enough of dating.’ I was burned out on dating or something,” she said.

“No, you said, ‘I’ve already started seeing someone!'” Flay shot back. “And I said, ‘I just want to go to dinner with you.'”

“It was like a foot in the mouth,” Cavallari, 37, said sheepishly before admitting that she shouldn’t have assumed Flay, 59, was asking her out on a romantic date.

“I think the ‘ask you to dinner’ thing was more about, ‘Oh, this seems like a date,'” the former reality star explained.

Despite the misunderstanding, the two met and “had the best time.”

The Uncommon James founder is recently single and broke up with Montana Boyz member Mark Estes last month because he was concerned about their 13-year age gap and differences in their “long-term” goals.

The couple first made their relationship public in February, more than two years after Cavallari resolved her divorce from Jay Cutler.

Flay, meanwhile, split from his girlfriend of three years, Christina Pérez, in July. per PEOPLE. He was previously married three times.

Still, Flay only had positive things to say about his ex, calling her “the most beautiful person in the world.”

Unlike Cavallari, who was quite public about her relationship with Estes Bobby’s triple threat said he prefers to keep his dating life secret because the rest of his life is so public.

“Other people like to talk about my personal life, I don’t like to talk about it because the rest of my life is so public because I’ve been on TV basically my entire adult life,” he explained.
