Kraken assistant coach Jessica Campbell makes history as the team falters in the season opener

As soon as the puck dropped for Tuesday night’s NHL game between the Seattle Kraken and the St. Louis Blues, history was made.

Jessica Campbell became the first woman in league history to work behind the bench as an assistant coach for an NHL team. Unfortunately there was a 2-3 defeat against the Blues.

Regardless, Campbell broke down barriers.

Despite the loss, Kraken defender Vince Dunn recognized the historic moment that had taken place at Climate Pledge Arena.
