PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – It’s Sunday night under the lights at Acrisure Stadium.

The Jets play the Steelers – and there could be a change under center.

Friday is a normal day in the Strip District. There are people taking a morning walk and people buying Steelers gear at some stores.

“Play … Fields,” said Joe Kutis, a Steelers fan from Chicago.

“I think the offense needs a little spark – and I think Wilson can bring an extra spark to the team,” Yinzers GM Tim Piett said in da Burgh.

But there’s a lot of talk in the quarterback talks. All signs point to Russell Wilson being the starter on Sunday night, which would be his first start in the Black and Gold.

“I don’t think so.” “The field numbers aren’t that bad,” said Kutis.

“I see a 4-2 record with Fields, I don’t think they should move now,” said Jeff Allen, a Steelers fan from Bulls Gap, Tenn.

“They have momentum,” Steelers fan Wendy Callis said.

Last week they scored 32 points… Doesn’t Justin Fields have that going for him?

“I think the defense is 4-2, so I don’t necessarily agree,” Callis said.

But some people still think it’s worth shaking things up. Tim Piett does – he likes Fields a lot, but still has a bit of a problem with his imperfections as a QB.

“Some of his passes were high and went over receivers’ heads,” Piett said.

“Experience will tell – I think so,” said Terry Mannering of Bridgeville.

Still, others don’t want to mess with what they call good mojo.

“If he messes up this game and/or maybe the next game, then you think about subbing Russell,” Allen said.

“Sunday Night Football, we’re good at Sunday Night Football,” Kutis said. “We don’t lose on Sunday Night Football – Play Fields.”

There are even Broncos fans like Jerry Shearer who have seen Wilson before and some remember it.

“Seattle fans, Bronco fans know he’s really good — as long as he has time,” Shearer said. “If he has time, he’ll be fine…he didn’t have much time in Denver. He got hit a lot.”

Others aren’t even willing to give Russ that much credit.

“I think Russell should be a mentor to Fields — because Russell doesn’t have much time left,” Allen said.
