Kaos Season 2: Netflix just canceled your new favorite show

Netflix just canceled one of its most exciting new shows.

The streaming service has made a habit of canceling acclaimed series early over the years, including in the most dire cases The O.A, Mindhunter And Shadow and Bonewhich was canceled despite being one of the most watched titles.

diversity has now confirmed that Netflix has retrieved the time Kaosa contemporary reinterpretation of Greek mythology by Charlie Covell (The end of the damn world), which has amassed a cult following since its release on August 29th.

The unexpected news came after one of the main cast revealed ahead of an official announcement that the series had not been renewed for a second season. Aurora Perrineau accidentally shared the news in a tribute to the show recorded by The Independenton her social media pages, accompanied by photos of herself as Riddy. She deleted the post 20 minutes later – but shared it again the next day.

Here is Perrineau’s post in full:

“Well… this one hurts. I find it really difficult to explain how I feel, but I’ll try.

“When I started auditioning for this show, I knew it was special, especially because of the fact that Charlie Covell’s scripts touched me in a way that most things didn’t. I knew all of these people and I loved them all – every flaw, everything.

“For the first time in my life I was really proud. I’m obviously proud of everyone’s work and the care they put into this project because I can tell you, they left everything on the floor. But I was also proud of myself, and that’s something I’ve struggled with.

“When I was cast, I couldn’t believe anyone saw me. A girl who is not only a minority, but also a survivor of the SA – and you’re telling me that someone thinks I could be one of the leads of a show, have agency, pursue my own mission, and be desirable enough to be their lover to be not just one amazing person, but two? Was I worthy of this? Everything that happened from that point on really changed my perspective.

“As the journey continued, I began to learn more about the absolutely amazing talent that lies within – as if Charlie wasn’t enough. Then I found out about our directors Georgi (Banks-Davies) and Runyararo (Mapfumo). It continued with our incredible cast; There are far too many to list, but I must recognize the three who became lifelong friends, family, and lifelines during our month-long journey through Spain: Misia (Butler), Nabhaan (Rizwan), and Killian (Scott).

“Our wonderful HMU department, wardrobe department, Sister, Netflix, our production team and our entire crew – every single person involved was a hit. And there I sat and asked myself, how? Why me? And the answer I often got back was: Why not you?

“Everyone was brilliant and unique. Every performance surprised and thrilled me. I can’t believe I get to do this to all of you. We have created something strange, dark, funny, crazy and utterly tragic – something completely human. THIS is a feeling I want to take with me.

“Thank you for letting me be your Riddy. I had the time of my life.”

What’s on Netflix? noted this when a fan asked Perrineau if that’s what her post meant Kaos had been canceled, the actor replied: “Unfortunately, yes.”

News from KaosThe series’ cancellation was met with derision from fans, especially considering Covell had previously said that the series needed three seasons to reach its natural conclusion.

“Are you kidding me? “This show was brilliant…and ended on a huge cliffhanger,” complained one fan, while another called it: “One of the best original shows they’ve done in years.”

Next to Perrineau Kaos with Jeff Goldblum, Janet McTeer, Cliff Curtis, Stephen Dillane and Leila Farzad.

The Independent has reached out to Netflix for comment.
