Kamala Harris supports tax cuts for tips, Donald Trump accuses her of “copying his policies”

US Vice President Kamala Harrisprobably for the first time, agreed with her rival Donald Trump and advocated the abolition of the tip tax.
“I promise everyone here that when I am president, we will continue to fight for working families, including raising the minimum wage and abolishing Taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers,” Harris said during a stopover in Nevada for the upcoming Presidential elections Campaign.

Harris and her Democratic running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, concluded a multi-day tour of Swing States – contested states on Saturday with its stopover in Nevada, a western state that could play a decisive role in the presidential election on November 5.
Following Harris’ statement, former President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social: “Kamala Harris, whose ‘honeymoon’ is coming to an end and who is slowly plummeting in the polls, simply copied my ‘no taxes on tips’ policy. The difference is that she won’t do it; she just wants to do it for political reasons! That was TRUMP’s idea.”

“She has no ideas, all she can do is steal from me. Remember, Kamala proposed the BIGGEST TAX HIKE IN HISTORY – it’s not happening. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” he added.
Harris, who is now the official Democratic presidential candidate, is campaigning alongside Governor Tim Walz. The two have visited key swing states such as Wisconsin, Michigan and Arizona, where voters traditionally alternate between supporting the Republican and Democratic parties in presidential elections.
The path to the White House is not determined by the national popular vote, but by securing at least 270 electoral votes. Each state is allocated a certain number of electoral votes proportional to its population, which increases the importance of swing states in the election.
After her visit to Nevada, Harris returned to her home state of California and headed to San Francisco to attend a fundraiser on Sunday co-hosted by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The event is expected to draw nearly 700 attendees and raise over $12 million, according to a campaign official.
According to poll, Kamala is ahead of Trump
Harris is four percentage points ahead of Donald Trump in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, according to a New York Times-Siena College poll conducted Aug. 5-9 released Saturday. The polls show Harris receiving 50% support among likely voters, while Trump receives 46% in each of the three states.
The polls, which surveyed a total of 1,973 likely voters in the three states, have a margin of error of plus or minus 4.2 to 4.8 percentage points. Specifically: “The margin of error among likely voters was plus or minus 4.8 percentage points in Michigan, plus or minus 4.2 points in Pennsylvania and plus or minus 4.3 points in Wisconsin,” the report continues.
These results suggest that Harris currently has a lead over Trump in these crucial swing states, which could play a significant role in the outcome of the upcoming presidential election.
As the 2024 election approaches, the dynamics in these key swing states will likely play a critical role in shaping the outcome.
