Kamala Harris received no questions about the debate in advance, ABC claims: “Absolutely not”

ABC has denied that Vice President Kamala Harris was briefed on the questions ahead of her debate with former President Donald Trump.

“Absolutely not,” an ABC News spokesperson said in a statement to The Daily Beast.

“Harris was not asked any questions before the debate.”

None of Harris’ staff had contact with debate moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis before Tuesday night’s clash in Philadelphia, the broadcaster added.

The categorical denial came after Trump – who had condemned the debate as “unfair” and “rigged” – raised the idea that Harris had been informed in advance about what questions to expect.

“I listened to her and said, ‘You know, she seems awfully familiar with the issues,'” he told Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” just hours after the debate.

In advance, ABC’s debate rules had stipulated that “no topics or questions will be given to campaign teams or candidates in advance.”

This comes after the 45th president and his campaign aides repeatedly argued that his Democratic rival was given an unfair advantage in their first – and likely only – presidential debate earlier this week.

In the aftermath, Trump quickly attacked both ABC and its moderators for repeatedly fact-checking and refuting him during the forum, arguing that it was a “three against one” affair.

“It was a set-up, as I expected, considering they corrected everything, but not with her,” he said.

“It was a three-on-one – that’s OK, I’ve had worse chances, but never were they so obvious,” he said of the moderators.

During the televised event, Trump’s statement was checked for veracity by moderators at least five times.

Meanwhile, Harris was allowed to speak continuously throughout the entire 90-minute debate.
