Kamala Harris promises tax cuts for the middle class and criticizes Trump’s economic policy in her conference speech

Date

(MENAFN) In her keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention, Kamala Harris, the party’s presidential candidate, outlined her plans to push through a significant tax cut for the middle class if elected. Harris criticized her Republican rival Donald Trump for his stance on taxation, claiming that Trump’s policies would only benefit the rich and exacerbate the national debt. According to Harris, Trump’s proposed tax hikes would disproportionately benefit billionaires and increase the national debt by about $5 trillion. In contrast, Harris promised to implement a middle-class tax cut that would benefit over 100 million Americans, contradicting what she described as Trump’s agenda of further tax breaks for the wealthy.

Harris also condemned Trump’s proposal for a “national sales tax” or “Trump tax,” which she said would increase costs for middle-class families by about $4,000 a year. She emphasized her commitment to creating an economy that provides opportunities for success for all Americans, regardless of their background or political affiliation. Harris’ acceptance speech at the convention underscored her commitment to bridging divides and promoting economic justice, setting the stage for her campaign as she prepares to face Trump in the upcoming presidential election on November 5.
