Kamala Harris Leads Majority of Battleground States: New Poll

According to a poll, Kamala Harris has a slight lead over Donald Trump in four of the seven battleground states.

A Wall Street Journal A poll of 600 registered voters in each of the key swing states shows the vice president narrowly ahead of Trump in Arizona (47 percent to 45), Michigan (47 percent to 45), Wisconsin (46 percent to 45) and Georgia (46 percent). is up to 45) in an expanded ballot that includes third-party and independent candidates where these are available as options.

The poll shows Trump narrowly ahead in Pennsylvania (46 percent to 45), North Carolina (46 percent to 45) and a 5-point lead in Nevada (47 percent to 42).

The results are the latest indication that the November race is too close with just over three weeks to go. All of Harris and Trump’s guidance is within the margin of error of every state except Nevada.

Overall, among all 4,200 swing state voters, Trump leads Harris 46 percent to 45 percent.

“This thing is a dead heat and will get to the point. The last three weeks are important,” David Lee, a Republican pollster who worked on the poll with Democrat Michael Bocian, told the newspaper Wall Street Journal.

“It really couldn’t be any closer,” Bocian added. “It’s an even, close, close race.”

The Wall Street Journal The poll was conducted by pollsters GBAO and Fabrizio Lee between September 28 and October 8 among 600 registered voters in each state. The margin of error for the entire sample of 4,200 was plus or minus 1.5 percentage points and 4 percentage points for results from one state.

Newsweek emailed the Trump and Harris campaigns seeking comment.

A previous one Wall Street Journal The swing states poll conducted in March, when President Joe Biden was leading Democrats, had Trump ahead in six battleground states, with the two tied in Wisconsin.

October’s results suggest Harris has a potential path to victory over the Sun Belt’s swing states.

More voters in Arizona now support Harris over Biden by a margin of 6 points, 5 points in Georgia and 4 points in North Carolina. Trump’s share has remained largely the same in all seven states since March.

It is believed that Harris’ clearest path to victory in November would be to win the three blue wall battleground states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

Trump’s most efficient path to 270 Electoral College votes would be to win the Sun Belt swing states North Carolina and Georgia and flip Pennsylvania.

Elsewhere the Wall Street Journal The poll shows Trump with a significant 10-point lead over Harris (50 percent to 40 percent) when it comes to who voters believe is best suited to handle the economy, the main issue of this election.

Trump is also preferred on the second most important issue, immigration and border security (52 percent to 36). Voters believe Harris would be better at handling the third most important issue, abortion, by a 16-point margin (51 percent to 35).
