Kamala Harris has a hard time saying how different she is from Biden on “The View,” surprising the CNN panel

Several CNN commentators revealed they were “surprised” by Vice President Kamala Harris’ apparent lack of preparation when she was asked on “The View” Tuesday how she differs from President Biden.

“I was a little surprised that she didn’t have a better answer to that question,” CNN anchor Kasie Hunt said Wednesday morning.

“I was surprised she didn’t have a better answer because it was an obvious question,” said political analyst Kristen Soltis Anderson. “This is currently one of the central questions of this election campaign. If voters were frustrated with the status quo, what would be different?”

“It’s also a little confusing because she has a good answer,” she added. “You could very easily say, ‘Look, I don’t want to bash the guy I’ve worked with for the last four years, but there are clearly some things I would do differently because I’m going to have some guidelines.’ proposed that would be new under my administration.”

In a friendly conversation on ABC’s The View, where she was introduced as the “next president of the United States,” Harris was asked by co-host Sunny Hostin, “During the US broadcast, would you have done anything differently than?” President Biden? “last four years?”

Harris replied, “I can’t think of anything.” The clip quickly went viral when Harris’ Republican opponents noted that she was not distancing herself from the sitting president.

“It just makes me angry that she wasn’t better prepared,” Anderson said of Harris’ interview appearance on the friendly daytime talk show. “It really shows how dangerous it is to have been stuck in the election campaign for the last few weeks and then suddenly to have this massive media attack.”

“It’s a difficult position for her,” former Biden press secretary Kendra Barkoff said of Harris. “She still has a boss. She still has to report to the boss. And he still makes the decisions at the end of the day. But I think she could have spoken more about these policies.”
