John Mellencamp will appear on the FOX Big Noon Kickoff Show in Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana’s 6-0 start is a source of pride for all Hoosiers fans. One of the most famous names will be there on Saturday to take it all in.

Indiana football announced Friday that singer John Mellencamp will appear on the FOX Big Noon Kickoff show before Indiana’s Noon ET Big Ten Conference game against Nebraska. It has not been announced when Mellencamp will appear on the show, but it begins airing at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The show will take place on the South Lawn near the South End Zone Plaza at Memorial Stadium.

The pregame show broadcast begins at 10 a.m. and begins at 12 p.m. ET on FOX. While the show starts at 10:00 a.m., the pre-show and fan pit open at 8:30 a.m

Mellencamp is one of Indiana’s most famous fans. The John Mellencamp Pavilion indoor exercise facility is named after him after he donated $1.5 million to help build the $6.5 million facility, which opened in 1996.

A native of Seymour, Indiana, Mellencamp was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2018. From 1979 to 2006, he had 28 singles chart on the Billboard Hot 100, 22 of which made it into the Top 40. “Jack & Diane” made it to No. 1 in 1982.

22 of Mellencamp’s albums reached the Billboard 200 album chart.

The first 500 fans at Saturday’s Big Noon Kickoff show will receive an LED Big Noon Kickoff cowboy hat. There is a $500 prize for the best sign. There will be additional ticket raffles, free food and DJ Amy Robbins will be part of the show.

Big Noon Kickoff has been part of FOX’s college football coverage since 2019. The host is Rob Stone and the studio talent is Matt Leinart, Mark Ingram II, Brady Quinn and Urban Meyer. Bruce Feldman and Tom Rinaldi are also part of the show.

This will be Big Noon Kickoff’s second appearance in Indiana. The first was on October 8, 2022, when the Hoosiers hosted Michigan.

Indiana is 6-0 for the first time since 1967 under coach Curt Cignetti. Indiana sits atop the Big Ten with a 3-0 record, tied with Penn Stae and Oregon. Indiana is ranked 16th in the Associated Press Top 25.

Parking lots and tailgates open at 7 a.m. Saturday. Gates at Memorial Stadium open to fans at 10:30 a.m

According to Indiana Football, all prepaid parking passes are sold out. Free parking is available in the Poplars and Henderson garages. A matchday shuttle runs from 10:00 a.m. until kick-off and up to 90 minutes after the game.

Paid parking is available in the Fee Lane and Luddy School car parks, both within walking distance of the stadium.
