Joe Tippmann on how NY Jets O-line plans to patch things up

A major factor in this was poor offensive line play New York Jets’ problems during their painful 10-9 home loss to the Denver Broncos. The Jets committed five pre-snap penalties, allowed five sacks and failed to score on multiple goal-line rushing attempts.

Jets Center Joe Tippman addressed the media on Monday to discuss the team’s offensive woes.

“You know, we started the movie today,” Tippman said. “And we’re confident in our plan to address this and we just have to clean it up. We have to get better. We can’t beat ourselves before the game even starts, but we’ve been working on this since the time in OTAs. We’ve had some problems and mishaps and we’re confident we’ll just keep going. And we have to eliminate these mistakes.”

Tippmann was one of many players on the team’s offense who struggled on Sunday. The Wisconsin product earned a 43.0 overall grade from Pro Football Focus and allowed two pressures. He also struggled with his shooting accuracy on a rainy day at MetLife Stadium.

The Jets have fallen to a 2-2 record this season and now have no room for error as they face a difficult stretch of games. This Sunday they face former Jets first-round draft choice Sam Darnold and the undefeated Minnesota Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Following this game, the Jets host the 3-1 division rival Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football before traveling to Pittsburgh to face the 3-1 Steelers on Sunday Night Football.
