Jennifer Lopez and Jharrel Jerome star in the upcoming wrestling biopic. Unstoppablebased on the true story of Anthony Robles.

Amazon MGM Studios on Thursday released the first images from the William Goldenberg-directed film, which centers on the life of wrestler Anthony Robles (Jerome), who was born with one leg and won a national championship at Arizona State University in 2011.

Lopez plays Anthony’s mother Judy, while Bobby Cannavale plays his father Rick. Michael Peña, who plays coach Bobby Williams, and Don Cheadle, who plays wrestling coach Shawn Charles, complete the cast.

“Despite being born without a right leg, Anthony Robles rises to become an NCAA Division 1 wrestling champion and eventually wins the national championship against the school that rejected him, nationally ranked team Iowa,” the film’s official synopsis states.

Unstoppable was produced by Lopez’s husband Ben Affleck through the production company Artists Equity, which he shares with Matt Damon. Robles also served as a producer on the film and worked as Jerome’s stunt double, performing the complex wrestling moves.

The film is William Goldenberg’s directorial debut. He previously won an Oscar for his work as editor on the 2013 film The Last Man. Argoand received Oscar nominations for The imitation game, Zero dark thirty, Sea biscuit And The Insider.

The biopic, based on the book by Robles and Murphy Unstoppable: From underdog to undefeated: How I became a championis set to have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. It will then be released in selected cinemas in December.
