Jennifer Lawrence becomes a mother of two!

The Oscar-winning “Hunger Games” star, 34, is expecting her second child with husband Cooke Maroney. A rep for Lawrence confirmed the news to Vogue.

When USA TODAY reached out for comment on Sunday, the actress’ rep referred to the Vogue article for confirmation.

Lawrence has been married to Maroney, an art dealer, since 2019. In 2022, they welcomed their first child together, a boy named Cy. Lawrence confirmed the news of her son’s birth in an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier this year.

“I live next door to you, and I imagine you living in my house with a brand new baby,” the talk show host told her at the time, noting that she used to live in the house where Lawrence lived. “By the way, I hear you talking to him sometimes and it’s really sweet.

Speaking to Vanity Fair in 2021, Lawrence said she hopes to protect her child’s privacy as much as possible.

“If I were at a dinner party and someone said, ‘Oh my God, you’re having a baby,’ I wouldn’t say, ‘God, I can’t talk about that. Get away from me.’ ‘You psycho!’ ” she said. “But every instinct in my body wants to protect her privacy as much as possible for the rest of her life. I don’t want anyone to feel welcome in her existence. And I feel like that just starts with “Not to involve him in this part of my job.”

But Lawrence has spoken about becoming a mother a few times, telling Vogue that “the morning after I was born, I felt like my whole life had started over,” adding, “I just stared. I was just so in love. Me too.” I fell in love with all the babies everywhere.

The Silver Linings Playbook star noted that motherhood helps her “screen out” film projects when she spoke to Cameron Diaz in Interview Magazine last year. Before taking on a new role, she asks: “Is it worth being away from my child for half the day?”

“Luckily my husband is the greatest father in the world. So when I’m working, I don’t feel any more guilt than the usual parental guilt that goes on every day,” she said.

She spoke about this feeling in a Variety conversation with Viola Davis in 2022.

“Every day that I’m a mother I feel terrible,” she said. “I feel guilty. I play with him and ask myself, ‘Is this what he wants to do? Should we be outside? We’re outside. What if he’s cold? What if he gets sick?’ Should we be inside? Is that sufficient? “

Lawrence most recently starred in “No Hard Feelings,” a raunchy comedy that earned her a Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a musical or comedy.
