Jeff Lynne puts the finishing touches on ELO with his visually stunning final concert in Michigan

DETROIT – Come for the concert, stay for the dazzling laser and light show. Jeff Lynne’s ELO performed a visually and sonically stunning concert, their last in Michigan.

Lynne took the stage shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, along with his huge band consisting of a pianist, two guitarists, a bassist, two backing singers, a keyboardist, a drummer, two cellists and a violinist .

Lynne was a man who said few words between songs. He simply thanked the audience and said, “This is our last tour, and I want to thank you all for sticking with us all these years. Thank you very much.”

It couldn’t be easier than this concert. Lynne and the band played one song after another, 20 in total, with no breaks between songs, for 90 minutes, excluding the single encore.

The band sounded great and the harmonies were right. Adding to the atmosphere were the blinding lights and lasers.

They played all the Electric Light Orchestra songs that fans wanted to hear, including “Evil Woman,” “Do Ya,” “Last Train to London,” “Strange Magic,” “Sweet Talkin’ Woman,” “Telephone Line,” “All Over the World”, “Don’t Bring Me Down” and “Mr. Blue Sky”.

Lynne and the band let the music speak for itself and we can’t get it out of our heads.
