Jane Lynch prefers to play the victim of “Murders in the Building” because her zodiac sign is Leo

Jane Lynch is not afraid to be the center of attention.

The Joy Alumnus, 64, plays Sazz Pataki in Hulu’s Only murders in the buildingand although her character was killed off at the end of season three, Lynch told E! News during the 2024 Emmys preview that she enjoyed being the victim of the season-long mystery.

“John Hoffman, a showrunner, came to me the season before and said, ‘You’re our murder victim,’ and I was like, ‘Oh!’ I was really happy because that means I’m going to be in a lot of the next season because they have to do flashbacks and you’re at the center of everything,” she said.

“I like that. I have Leo ascendant. I love that. I want to be the center of attention!”

This isn’t the first time Lynch, who was born on July 14, has expressed her love for all signs of the zodiac.

In August, she told PEOPLE that while she didn’t think it would happen, she did want to “do an astrology podcast” one day.

The Emmy winner also emphasized how much she enjoyed working with Hide Co-star Steve Martin, who in her role as Sazz acts as a stunt double for Martin’s acting role Charles.

“The great thing about it is that when we’re rehearsing the scene, I just watch what he’s doing and when he’s doing this, when he’s doing that, and if he changes it, I have to be on guard,” she said.

“But usually he sets it up so I can mirror it. So that’s always a lot of fun. We don’t break that gimmick, that old hat, but every now and then we do it and I think it has a great effect.”

Lynch played in Joy from 2009 to 2015 as Sue Sylvester, and she also spoke to E! about how she would “love to do a whole season of Joy with just those pop songs (from the 60s and 70s). The stuff I grew up with on the radio.”
