Reality TV star Jana Duggar from the TLC series “19 Kids and Counting” and “Counting On” is settling in Lincoln after recently marrying a man from Nebraska.

On August 15, 34-year-old Jana married 31-year-old Stephen Wissmann of Milford. Their wedding in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, took place exactly two months after their engagement.

Jana told People Magazine that she is leaving her home state to live with Stephen in a house that the two renovated together.

Property records show Stephen purchased the five-bedroom home in northwest Lincoln in May 2023 for $275,000.

Jana grew up in Arkansas in a family with 19 children.

The Duggars first came into the spotlight in 2004 in various TV specials and documentaries as the family continued to grow. Their reality show, “19 Kids and Counting,” began in 2008 and was originally called “17 Kids and Counting.” The show featured Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar and their daily lives as a growing family.

After the show was canceled in 2015, Jana, the eldest daughter, continued with her siblings in a spin-off show called “Counting On,” which ran until 2020.

According to People Magazine, Jana first came into contact with Stephen about 13 years ago when the Wissmanns were snowed in in Arkansas. Since then, their paths crossed on and off until they reconnected earlier this year.

Stephen is one of 13 siblings and also comes from a large family. As the son of Loren and Gloria Wissmann, Stephen is the second sibling to marry into the Duggar family. His sister Hannah Wissmann married Jana’s brother Jeremiah Duggar in 2022.

The Wissmann family, who didn’t have a television show, found their connection through music and faith. Their band, The Wissmanns, consists of 15 members who play Christian and gospel music.

In addition to playing mandolin and guitar, Stephen also sings lead and bass and is the vice president of Wissman Enterprises Inc., where he manufactures small furniture.

According to the Duggar family website, Jana’s hobbies include planting, traveling and renovating. She has nearly 80,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel, where she posts videos of recent home renovations, including her small house in Arkansas. Last year, Jana enrolled in nursing school in Arkansas, becoming the first Duggar sibling to attend a secular college.
