Jamal Murray’s honest admission after the Denver Nuggets lost 2-0

The Denver Nuggets entered both the NBA regular season and preseason with some major issues on the court. At first, many hoped these issues were just preseason issues, but after an 0-2 start to the regular season, it’s clear they’re more than that.

After the Nuggets failed against the LA Clippers without Kawhi, Jamal Murray started the season 0-2. In Murray’s eyes, most of the Nuggets’ problems lie in their lack of attention to detail.

“I think it’s just the details. I think it was halftime and Harden had like 12 assists or something, I just checked,” Murray said. “(Ivica) Zubac was just a presence down there. They split our defense up a little bit. So I won’t think about it too much, it’s basketball. Like you said, we fell short today. Like I said.”, just little things, be more detailed, be more physical.

One reference Murray added in his postgame press conference that seemed a little unsettling was his mention of chemistry. Murray mentioned that he wasn’t sure how to finish a fast break because there wasn’t enough chemistry between him and his squad. A statement that seems a bit confusing since the Nuggets have kept many of the same players year after year.

“A lot of it comes from chemistry. I took the break today and didn’t know whether to do two or three just because we were talking about a few things in the locker room,” Murray said. “Once we get those things sorted out, limit turnovers and stop beating ourselves, we’ll be fine.”

While Nuggets fans may be incredibly concerned about their 0-2 start, Jamal Murray believes the team will be just fine. It’s a great sign that the players in the locker room are talking about it and actively trying to improve.
