The Pixel 8 Pro already ranks as the Google device I’ve kept the longest as one of my everyday devices, surpassed only by the Nexus 4 from way back when. I’ve explained countless times why it’s one of the best phones, made even better by the robust Google AI features it introduced. And even though its successors, the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL, have new upgrades and more AI features, I don’t plan on making the upgrade.

In fact, I may end up sticking with the Pixel 8 Pro after all – although the standard Pixel 9 could be a tempting option. While every new phone is expected to be better, I think it boils down to how much more value they offer to convince buyers.
