It’s time for basketball*: Spurs at Rockets

Welcome to the gaming thread. Veterans of the game thread know how we operate here, but for anyone new, we have a few rules. Our Community Guidelines Apply and basically say: Be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll, and don’t curse too much.

Today’s game is the last time Spurs will play a game that doesn’t count in the standings, so the goal is pretty simple. A little conditioning, a chance for the players to compete on the field together against real competition, and a trip home to San Antonio where they can prepare for the real games. The Houston Rockets are a tough matchup for the Silver and Black. Alperen Sengun was a player who used his strength and aggressiveness to play well against Victor Wembanyama in their previous encounters. It will be interesting to see if this match takes place tonight or if Pop will just play backup. The only remaining roster question appears to be who will fill the final two-way spot, which could be Riley Minix or Malachi Flynn, who didn’t look great in training camp but has a 50-point game in the NBA under his belt Belt already.

The real games begin next week in Dallas against the Mavericks, who brought Klay Thompson into the backcourt to help out Luka Doncic. It will be fun.

* Preseason basketball

Match prediction:

Chris Paul will sell an insurance policy to Ime Udoka at half-time.
