England face their biggest test yet in the Nations League when they host Greece at Wembley in Group B2, where they sit top of the table.

Neither team has lost a game since this tournament resumed, having defeated both Finland and the Republic of Ireland during the September international break.

Greece got off to the better start, keeping two clean sheets and scoring more goals (five compared to the Three Lions’ four), although there is little difference between the two teams.

Both teams could also be missing their key striker, with Fotis Ioannidis out of the Greece squad due to injury and Harry Kane still trying to recover from a thigh problem.

England v Greece kicks off at 7:45pm BST at Wembley Stadium on Thursday 10 October.

Team news

Harry Kane did not train with the rest of the squad on Tuesday as he recovers from a hamstring injury and the England captain is a doubt for this game. He has trained indoors according to a special program and may therefore be able to take part at some point, although a starting place is unlikely.

Ezri Konsa, Morgan Gibbs-White and Kobbie Mainoo all withdrew from the squad on Monday after sustaining related injuries over the weekend. Kyle Walker, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden have returned to the squad for this camp and are all in the Three Lions starting XI.

Greece’s chances of winning have been severely affected as Fotis Ioannidis sustained an injury in Panathinaikos’ recent Greek Super League clash against Olympiacos and was left out of the squad. Vangelis Pavlidis should therefore take the lead while the rest of the team takes on a more familiar form.

Goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos should win his 45th international match in goal.
