Ironmouse responds to Kai Cenat about breaking her Twitch record

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Ironmouse noted Kai Cenat’s comments about reclaiming the record crown for Twitch subscriber counts and expressed excitement for that to happen:

“Records are meant to be broken. I think it’s incredible and amazing when he comes back and breaks it because you just have to keep going and move forward. I think it’s great for its community; “It’s great for the streaming community as a whole.”

“Record-breaking moment meant a lot to me,” says Ironmouse

Although the Vtuber reiterated that the main goal of her subathon was to raise money for charities and her community, she also revealed that breaking the record was a life-changing experience:

“I cried a lot. It meant a lot to me because it’s Hispanic Heritage Month and I’m Latina, and it meant a lot to me as a Latina, it meant a lot to me because I was the first Vtuber to do that, the first woman , who did that, and there were just a lot of firsts.”

Ironmouse became Twitch’s most subscribed female streamer in 2022, but began creating content in 2017. Her increasing popularity earned her the Best Vtuber award at The Game Awards 2023. Ironmouse also founded the popular Vtuber group VShojo in 2020.

Although Kai Cenat respectfully acknowledged Ironmouse’s achievement, some users were not so polite. Ironmouse received negative reactions from some creators and their communities, but she said that overall comments from other streamers were mostly positive. The path to her Twitch record wasn’t easy either. In the middle of their subathon, Ironmouse’s YouTube channel abruptly ended. She has since returned to the platform, but the Vtuber did not reveal why YouTube closed the platform in the first place. Her YouTube channel currently has over 1.16 million subscribers.

Ironmouse’s success is undeniable as she is arguably Twitch’s most prominent Vtuber of all time. Recently, Ironmouse launched Vtuber Academy, a weekly talent show that brought together 14 well-known streamers as participants and let them create content as Vtubers. The winner would receive their own fully funded Vtuber model. Even though their subathon has ended, it’s likely that Ironmouse will continue to grow on Twitch. It took over a year for her to become the most subscribed streamer of all time, but whether Kai Cenat will break her record in less time remains to be seen.
