Simone Inzaghi celebrates Inter’s third win in a week but admits we “can’t keep conceding so many goals in Serie A” after the 3-2 win against Torino.

The Nerazzurri took three points tonight, but they really struggled, especially considering Toro only had 10 men left from the 20Th Minute for Guillermo Maripan’s straight red card, which caught Marcus Thuram on the ankle.

Thuram then scored a hat-trick, but Duvan Zapata and a late penalty from Nikola Vlasic managed to keep ten-man Torino in the game until the final whistle.

“This team played three games in one week and won all three. “We had to react after the derby and I can’t complain about the team’s effort because we deservedly won all three,” Inzaghi told Sky Sport Italia.

Those were 3-2 victories over Udinese and Torino to accompany the 4-0 Champions League triumph over Crvena Zvezda.

“Of course we have to improve in some aspects, we pay a high price for every little distraction. We worked really hard on details that need to be trimmed, the boys have a great spirit, but given everything we did today it can’t end 3-2.

“Torino never gave up, their goalkeeper made a lot of saves and we weren’t that precise in the finish, that’s true. However, considering it was the third game in a week and we won them all, I can’t complain.”

Inter rotates but Inzaghi has some guarantees

Inzaghi rotated the squad during the week, making seven changes, but the only players he seems unable to do without are Alessandro Bastoni – who provided two assists today – Hakan Calhanoglu and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Why are they in every game?

“They just seem to be in good physical condition at the moment. Bastoni and Calhanoglu had some early substitutions to give them a break. I need everyone, they all train hard and make me think hard about my choices, but those decisions are all based on what I see in training.”

It is noteworthy that although Inter have not conceded a single goal in two Champions League games, Inter have been very distracted in Serie A and have conceded nine goals in just seven rounds. Is there a difference in orientation between Europe and Italy?

“Manchester City and Red Star didn’t concede a goal, but they could have done it,” warned Inzaghi.

“There are moments like this in football and we try to work on them because we know that what we are doing right now is not enough. I’m happy that the boys are working so hard and are eager to learn. Luckily we conceded two goals both today and against Udinese and still won the games, but that is not something we can continue to do.”
