Throw India chose Field vs Bangladesh

India celebrated two debuts at one debut venue – Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on Sunday. Rushing quick Mayank Yadav and seam all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy were given caps before the toss and were forced into immediate action as India opted to field after winning the toss. Tilak Verma, Ravi Bishnoi, Jitesh Sharma and Harshit Rana were missing from the Indian squad.
Sanju Samson would likely open with Abhishek Sharma in an unusual Indian XI with up to eight bowling options. Riyan Parag and Abhishek were the two part-time spin options to go along with seam all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Reddy. Varun Chakravarthy made his international comeback after last playing as India’s leading spinner in this XI in November 2021.
Bangladesh played their first T20I since the World Cup in West Indies and fielded a standard combination of three specialist fast bowlers: Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman. Opening batsman Parvez Hossain Emon replaced Tanzid Hasan from the last eleven that Bangladesh played. Mehidy Hasan Miraz and legspinner Rishad Hossain formed the spin attack.
