Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS campaign is largely minimalist, chic and clean, with the much-talked about product line and of course the face marketing it speaking for themselves. Her latest project with actress Olivia Munn is no different in this regard. Except that it is. The photos shared by Kim have attracted a lot of attention thanks to the chest scar that Olivia is pictured with rather casually. Earlier in March this year, Olivia took to her social media channels to share a series of pictures of herself from her ordeal with cancer. The actress revealed that a lucky hunch her gynecologist had led to a series of tests being carried out, the overall result of which was that she was diagnosed with Luminal B, a particularly “aggressive, rapidly developing cancer”. This came just two months after her sister tested negative for up to 90 different cancer genes, including BRCA, the most well-known breast cancer gene.

Back to the campaign: The scar visible on Olivia’s left breast is believed to be from the breast reconstruction surgery the actress opted for after a double mastectomy. Commenting on the pictures, Olivia said in her caption: “In the middle of this latest @SKIMS campaign shoot I decided I’m tired of worrying about my mastectomy scars. I fought hard. I hope other women who are aware of their scars see these photos and feel all the love I’m sending.” The internet is clearly in awe.
