Ice Spice’s manager reacts to the controversy surrounding Cleotrapa and the Y2K tour

Ice Spice and Cleotrapa are at loggerheads over the alleged abuse of Cleotrapa during Ice Spice’s Y2K tour. The Bronx rapper’s manager, James Rosemond Jr., has stepped in to clarify the allegations.

Cleotrapa called Ice “calculated” and said she was only invited on the tour to boost Ice Spice’s image after her disparaging text messages to Nicki Minaj were leaked. She then claimed the “In Ha Mood” rapper gave her only one day’s notice before agreeing to the tour and said Cleo would be “taken care of” during the tour. However, Cleotrapa allegedly had to pay almost all of her expenses out of her own pocket, was abused, and more.

Rosemond interjected that he and his team had given Cleotrapa “a chance” and that it was now up to her management to decide whether agreeing to the tour was a wise decision. “You have to invest in yourself, which means paying the price for the chance if necessary. That’s cheesy. Someone gives you a chance and that’s the thanks they get. Opening acts aren’t the same as headliners,” X wrote.

He continued, “The entitlement and the ego are insane… An artist (and their team) have to know what to do when these opportunities come their way. They have to know how to use them to advance their career. But some artists just don’t know how to churn out HITS, so they stop and start ranting.”

The manager also revealed that he has been in contact with the Von Dutch artist’s team and that, according to him, they “know their client is 100% in the wrong.” Elsewhere in his series of tweets, Rosemond explained that there are different business models when it comes to artists touring together and suggested that Cleo “wanted to go viral to gain influence,” when she could have instead had a “private phone call to talk about differences.”

In her five-part TikTok series, Cleotrapa said she was forced to change in bathrooms, pay for hotel rooms out of her own pocket and was not paid. In her video, she said: “You actually only have one chance to show me that you are jealous, intimidated, unreliable, fake, disloyal, insincere, manipulative and calculating.”

The How…? The creator addressed the matter on Spaces, where her feelings echoed what her manager later said. “The crash is sad, guys,” Ice Spice relayed. “The scary part of fame is honestly the moment when someone feels like they can’t use your platform anymore, or that they’re not getting exactly what they want out of a situation… That’s the moment they decide to crash every time. I’m seeing a pattern.”
