A seasoned shopper shared his tips for homemade pest control using purchases from Dollar Tree.

Instead of using name-brand pest control products, they opted for $1.25 products that keep his home pest-free.

A TikToker (@daddybrownn) shared his money-saving household tips in a viral video.

While shopping at the Dollar Tree, he acquired all the necessary ingredients to make a homemade insecticide.

The inventor first grabbed a spray bottle and bleach.

“You can pour this down the drain and get rid of the drain flies and fruit flies that come out of the drain,” he explained, holding the large bottle of bleach in his hand.

“This will also kill any eggs and larvae they lay in your drain.”

Another practical household item that also serves as an insecticide is dryer sheets.

To ward off mosquitoes, he simply lays the sheets outside.

To combat the insects on his porch, he used Pine-Sol, which he mixed with water in a ratio of 4:1 to repel wasps.

Because of the cockroaches in his house, he grabbed Fabuloso.

“If you clean your floors with them, they won’t want to come in,” he said.

He explained that pouring the Fabuloso outside would also drive away the cockroaches.

He uses a 1:1 ratio of sugar and baking soda for cockroaches already in the house to kill the pests.

An effective flea repellent that he swears by is a 1:1 ratio of baking soda and vinegar.

Not only do all the ingredients cost $1.25 at Dollar Tree, he added that because the DIY solutions are “natural,” they won’t harm the environment or enter the water supply.
