“I felt noble and a bit like a princess” (Exclusive)

Jana Duggar had her “princess moment” on August 15 when she married Stephen Wissmann.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s eldest daughter, 34, walked down the aisle in a floor-length, off-the-shoulder dress and said it made her feel like an absolute queen.

“The dress felt classy and a little bit princess-like,” she told PEOPLE exclusively about the dress she chose.

Her dress was made of ivory satin and had a slight V-neck. The bodice was also V-shaped at the back and the hem flowed into a train behind her. She wore a pearl-studded veil that was pinned into her blonde hair, which also fell down her back.

Jana, who married Wissmann in Arkansas, met her husband years ago through their families.

“(The Wissmanns) traveled and sang. I remember them coming to our house about 13 years ago and ending up getting snowed in, which hardly ever happens in Arkansas,” she told PEOPLE.

They dated briefly a few years ago before going their separate ways, but stayed in touch over the years. Then Jana’s brother Jeremiah Duggar married Wissmann’s sister Hannah. Earlier this year, Jana and Wissmann reunited and realized they might be meant for each other.

“It was like we were asking ourselves, ‘What are we doing here? We still enjoy each other. We still value each other very much,'” she said.

Now that they are married, Jana plans to move to Nebraska, where Wissmann is from.

“It’s great. We’ve been working, he has a little house that we bought and we’ve been renovating and fixing up and that’s been fun,” Jana told PEOPLE.

However, she admitted that it was sometimes hard for her to watch her younger siblings get married before her, but she is happy to be at this point in her life.

“I’m just thinking, ‘What’s going on? Is it me? Do I have a problem?’ I know I’ve prayed about it for years and I’ve definitely thought, ‘What’s going on? Why can’t I just…’ All of my siblings, most of them, got married in their early 20s,” she said. “I’m the oldest by far. So it was discouraging at times.”

She added: “I tried to look at the positive, but you long for that person, for someone to spend your life with. It was hard, but it was good and God taught me a lot along the way.”
