“I don’t care if it’s good”: Quentin Tarantino refuses to watch Toy Story 4 because the third film has the perfect ending

Legendary director Quentin Tarantino says he won’t watch Toy Story 4 because the third film is already the perfect ending.

When Toy Story 4 was announced, it was quite a surprise, as the third film seemed like the ultimate farewell for Woody and the gang.

After revealing he’s a huge fan of the trilogy, Tarantino said on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast: “With Toy Story, the third one is just great. It’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. And if you’ve seen the other two, it’s devastating… But the thing is, they made a fourth one three years later or something. And I have no desire to see it. They literally finished the story as perfectly as they could, so no, I don’t care if it’s good. I’m done. I’m done.”

Toy Story 3 ends with Woody and his friends being given by Andy to young Bonnie, who is saying goodbye to her old son who is going to college. There was not a dry eye in the room…

It’s unclear what the director thinks about the upcoming fifth film, which will see the toys attack the iPad generation, but judging by these comments, we can assume he won’t be going to the theater to see the film.

Toy Story 5 is directed by Andrew Stanton and is scheduled to hit theaters in 2026. It is not the only animated sequel that Disney has in the works. Sequels to Zootopia and Frozen are also in the works – namely Frozen 3. And 4 are on the way.
