How to watch the MTV Video Music Awards 2024

The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards take place tonight (September 11) at the UBS Arena on Long Island. The main ceremony will be broadcast live on MTV and begins at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (5 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time). Artists include Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem, Glorilla, Video Vanguard winner Katy Perry, host Megan Thee Stallion and more.

Taylor Swift received the most nominations at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. She will compete for Video of the Year against Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Eminem and SZA. Other nominees include Chappell Roan, Bad Bunny, Jack Harlow and Olivia Rodrigo.

How to watch the VMA preview

The MTV VMAs pre-show begins at 6:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time and includes 90 minutes of celebrity performances and interviews. The pre-show will air on MTV, MTV2, CMT and Logo.

Nessa, Dometi Pongo and Kevan Kenney will host the pre-show, and there will be a performance by K-pop band Le Sserafim.

How to watch the VMAs main ceremony

The MTV Video Music Awards officially begin at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The awards show can be viewed on MTV, BET, BET Her, CMT, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV2, Nick at Nite, Paramount Network, Pop, TV Land, VH1 and Univision.

The VMAs will not be streamed live on MTV.com or Paramount+.

If you miss the show the first time, the encore will air on Comedy Central (after The daily show) and UniMás (following the local news), beginning around 11:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

Megan Thee Stallion will host the 2024 VMAs and Katy Perry will receive the Video Vanguard Award. Both artists will perform, as will Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Glorilla, show opener Eminem, Anitta, Camila Cabello, Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, Blackpink’s Lisa and more.
