Home Improvement star Zachery Ty Bryan arrested for drunk driving in Oklahoma

“Home Improvement” alum Zachery Ty Bryan was arrested again on Friday — this time for drunk driving and driving without a license in Custer County, Oklahoma.

Bryan – who played teenager Brad Taylor on the hit ABC sitcom – was approached by police around 6:47 a.m. Friday morning, TMZ reports. The former child star was reportedly sleeping in the back seat of his vehicle at the time.

The officers claimed they left Bryan after having a brief conversation with him. However, they eventually stopped him shortly after he decided to drive away.

During the traffic stop, Bryan told officers that he had drunk “too much” the night before and said he didn’t know “if he ever stopped” before getting in his car to sleep it off, according to footage the dashcam shows socket.

He further told officers that he was “running away from California now” because he hated “this place.”

Police first had Bryan take some field sobriety tests before taking him in.

Bryan claimed his suspended license was due to one of his previous arrests for driving under the influence and admitted to the officer in the car that he had “several.”

In February, he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in California and charged with at least three felony counts of driving under the influence and contempt of court.

He was released later that same day on $50,000 bail and his court hearing was scheduled for April 23.

The actor was also charged with two counts of menacing, two counts of fourth-degree assault, coercion, aggravated strangulation, harassment and obstructing a news report after he allegedly strangled his girlfriend in 2020.

Bryan later claimed the entire incident was “blown out of proportion.”

“We got really loud. We were screaming and because we were in a townhouse with (thin walls), everyone could hear it,” he said.

“At the end of the day (the police) throw a bunch of charges at you because ultimately they want you to plead to something,” Bryan continued. “I could have fought it…but this is more stress and drama.”
