Holstein Kiel vs Bayern Munich: Lineups, team news, injuries and more!

FC Bayern Munich somehow came out of the international break without any new injuries, which is not a good sign considering the club’s streak of luck.

In any case, Vincent Kompany will face Holstein Kiel, the club that knocked Hansi Flick’s sextuple winners out of the DFB-Pokal in 2021. Can he succeed where Flick failed? Let’s hope so. There is only one way to find out.

About the team

Bayern Munich has survived the international break. However, some players such as Josip Stanišić and Hiroki Ito are still out due to injury, so Vincent Kompany does not have the privilege of being able to rely on a perfect team.

Harry Kane played in both of England’s games during the international break but is still reasonably fit enough to start on Saturday. He will likely be joined by a trio of Jamal Musiala, Michael Olise and Serge Gnabry – with the recently recovered Leroy Sané and the ancient fossil formerly known as Thomas Müller as options on the bench.

In midfield, despite the fact that João Palhinha has returned early from international duty, Kompany will likely stick with his double six of Aleksandar Pavlović and Joshua Kimmich and leave his most expensive signing of the summer on the bench again. There is (probably) nothing wrong with that.

Meanwhile, the defence is likely to remain unchanged. Alphonso Davies and Sacha Boey are the preferred options on the wings, and Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae are expected to play in the centre. With Manuel Neuer between the posts, the starting eleven could look like this:
