Hilarie Burton exits ‘One Tree Hill’; Rewatch ‘Drama Queens’ podcast; Robert Buckley to join Sophia Bush and Bethany Joy Lenz

Hilarie Burton is retiring from the weekly moderation duties of the OneTreeHill Watch podcast again Drama Queens.

The actress reiterates her exit from the drama series after six seasons and will not comment on the remaining seasons.

“We’re coming to the end of my experience behind the scenes on the show, and so I really started to question what I contributed to it, but also how we keep this storytelling alive and important,” Burton said in the latest episode of Drama Queens“And as we move into seasons seven through nine, it was important that we introduce a new queen to succeed me.”

Burton assured podcast listeners that while she will still “pop in here and there,” it will be Robert Buckley, along with Sophia Bush and Bethany Joy Lenz, who will recap the remaining seasons of the show.

Buckley joined OneTreeHill in season 7 and played the cocky sports agent Clay Evans.

“I’m super excited to enter my Queen era,” Buckley said in an Instagram post.

The Drama Queens Instagram account also welcomed Buckley, writing in a post: “We are so excited to have Robert join us on this journey and are so excited to watch with him!!”

In her last podcast episode, Burton said she felt like she was “finally able to take a deep breath because every week it was, ‘Oh my God, I have to tell this story.’ ‘Oh my God, we have to relive this.'”

“And of course there was so much good stuff in (the podcast), but I had to somehow motivate myself every week,” she continued. “This was the first week in years where I was like, ‘I don’t have to reveal anything today.’ I was like, ‘I’m just going to have a smoothie bowl. I feel good today.'”
