PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Oregon’s voter registration deadline is less than two weeks away, making it a crucial time for those who have not yet submitted their information.

Luckily, registering to vote in Oregon is as easy as filling it out MyVote on the Secretary of State’s registration website. All you need is an Oregon driver’s license, permit, or ID card issued by the DMV.

However, if you do not have an Oregon-issued ID, you can still register to vote as long as you are a U.S. citizen, an Oregon resident, and at least 16 years old. However, anyone who has not yet reached the age of 18 will not receive a ballot paper until they are of legal age.

If you do not have a state ID, you must fill out the online registration application, print it and submit it to the county elections office. If you simply don’t want to register online, you can fill out a voter registration form and deliver it in person.

Most Oregonians who have obtained or renewed their driver’s license since 2016 have already been registered to vote by the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles. This automatic registration feature recently sparked controversy when the Secretary of State’s Office announced that an audit had taken place Nine voters were “incorrectly registered” without providing proof of citizenship.
