The Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers will be the opening act for one of the busiest nights in NHL history.

In partnership with ESPN, the league is bringing back Frozen frenzywhere all 32 NHL teams play. The 16 games start staggered at 6:00 p.m. and end at 11:00 p.m. Thirteen consecutive puck drops are each only 15 minutes apart.

Tonight’s matchup between the Capitals and Flyers is the first game of ESPN’s tripleheader. Puck drop at Wells Fargo Center will take place at 6:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN and will be available to stream on ESPN+ either online or via the app.

ESPN’s Bob Wischusen will provide play-by-play while Ray Ferraro will be the color commentator. They will be supported internally by Emily Kaplan, who will be responsible for reporting. Steve Levy, Mark Messier and Arda Öcal will give highlights and analysis in the ESPN studio. Dave Jackson will serve as the show’s rules analyst.

The game marks Alex Ovechkin’s “historic” first game against young Russian star Matvei Michkov.

To be clear: the game is not airs on Monumental Sports Network, and there will be no Joe Beninati or Craig Laughlin tonight. If you tune in to the game at 7 p.m., you’ll have missed the entire first half and the start of the second half, which would be tragic, especially if Alex Ovechkin scores early.
