For the first time since Barbie dominated the box office in the “Barbenheimer” summer of 2023, Margot Robbie will be back on the big screen. Her next film, A great, brave, beautiful journeywill be in theaters just in time for the next Mother’s Day. Deadline reports that the film will be released on May 9, 2025.

Colin Farrell will star alongside Robbie in the film. It is the first collaboration between the two – although both have Batman villains. Plot details are being kept secret, but it is said that the film will revolve around two strangers and the titular big, bold, beautiful journey they take. In addition to the two main actors, the film will also feature Lily Rabe (American Horror Story), Jodie Turner Smith (Evil Monkey), Phoebe Waller Bridge (Flea bag), Hamish Linklater (Midnight Mass), Billy Magnussen (No time to die), Sarah Gadon (Ferrari), Brandon Perea (No), Yuvi Hecht (Pretty damn creepy), Calahan Skogman (Shadows and Bones), Chloe East (The Fabelmans), Jacqueline Novak (Monika), And Jennifer Grant (Babylon). Video essayist and director Kogonada will direct the film; it will be his third feature film, after the acclaimed Columbus And According to Yang. He has also recently hosted episodes of Pachinko And The Acolyte.

What else is coming to theaters next May?

Currently, every weekend in May 2025 is associated with a major theatrical release. On the first weekend of the month, May 2, Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*in which a number of villains and anti-heroes from previous Marvel films are reunited as a black ops strike team. A great, brave, beautiful journey will take place next weekend, while on May 16 the debut of the Anne Hathaway/Ewan McGregor Science fiction film Flowervale RoadThe summer blockbuster season begins on Memorial Day weekend on May 23rd.
