Family should always be loving and supportive, but unfortunately that is not always the case.

What happens when your sister’s new husband says something incredibly hurtful about your appearance?

This is what this woman is struggling with and she is not sure how to react.

Check it out and tell us what you think.

I (f30) was at my sister’s (26) wedding a few weeks ago.

It was beautiful and seemed to be exactly what they wanted.

Sounds like a great event.

Last weekend after coming back from their honeymoon, my sister, her husband, my husband and my brother went to my parents’ house for dinner so they could show us photos from their trip and some from their wedding (just a few since the photographer was still editing the others??)

Now that’s weird.

They seemed to have had a great time on their honeymoon in the Turks and Caicos Islands and their wedding photos were beautiful, but I noticed that my body had been heavily edited.

About myself, I have to say that I am 1.47 m tall and have been struggling with my weight for years.

I had to take steroids for over a year and they completely ruined my body in many ways.

For most of my life I weighed barely 45 kg, but while taking this medication I gained 27 kg.

I was also diagnosed with PCOS and my peak weight was 86 kg.

I know it’s bad, but I’ve lost 25 pounds in the last year and after having a watermelon-sized tumor removed from my ovaries last fall, I was able to lose another 15 pounds.

I tried my best to look good at her wedding.

My sister is a natural blonde, she is tall, beautiful and the absolute sweetest person in the world.

She is also a nurse and was in a sorority.

Each and every one of her bridesmaids was tall, slim and blonde.

Her current husband was never my favorite person, but his family is wonderful and they are very close to my parents.

Photographs shown at their wedding receptions and other events suggest that he was quite overweight throughout most of his childhood, but later became very interested in fitness and participated in triathlons and similar competitions.

I can’t believe he is so heartless.

So after our family dinner, I was outside alone with my new brother-in-law and he looks at me and says the reason it’s taking so long to get their photos back is because every single picture that had me in it had to be edited.

He specifically said that they had to “cut away my jowls.”

He shouldn’t get a cent.

He half-jokingly said I owed him $250 for photoshopping me and delaying the wedding photos.

I looked at him and said, “I hope you’re kidding, because that’s rude and besides, whatever.”

He pulled out one of the photos where all the bridesmaids are surrounding the bride and I’m right at the front (because I’m by far the smallest) and said that this photo should have been so beautiful, but I’m taking up too much space up front and that can’t be changed.

I just looked at him, said nothing, went inside, got my husband and we left.

I don’t know if I should pay him back or tell my sister or what.

My husband told me to tell my parents and sister what he said, but I don’t want to start any drama.

Is this possible?

Wow, this new brother-in-law is a real guy.

I’m not sure how I would react. Let’s see what people say in the comments.

Good point, that’s strange.

That’s how she should have reacted.

It’s really inappropriate.

Don’t protect him by keeping his secret.

Yes, avoid him at all costs.

Challenge him in front of the whole family!

This guy is special.
