The viral interview sparked numerous comments from concerned fans, but Hayden Panettiere brushed off their worries and blamed her behavior on exhaustion. But sources suggested there was more than just fatigue behind the scenes.

A source recently claimed that a family member traveled to Los Angeles to get Panettiere into a rehabilitation facility. Relatives’ efforts to help her included kicking her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, out of their home.

The procedure reportedly took place on Sunday, October 6, weeks after fans became concerned about Panettiere’s well-being. Her troubles began on September 18, when a video of her interview with PEOPLE was shared on the outlet’s Instagram page.

Viewers called for the video to be removed, noting Panettiere’s inappropriate behavior. One comment said: “Slurred speech, eyes can barely stay open, trying to get through long words is obviously not sober. Very sad.”

“Dancing With the Stars” pro Peta Murgatroyd expressed similar sentiments, writing, “This interview should be removed ASAP!!!” However, Panettiere addressed fans’ concerns in an Instagram post on September 22, exhausting her responsible for their behavior In contact.

Panettiere and her boyfriend began a relationship in August 2018, but their love faltered and more than one incident of domestic violence occurred. Hickerson was arrested and charged with domestic violence in May 2019, and an order of protection was issued against the actress.

However, the charges against him were dropped and the two rekindled their love before splitting less than a year later following another alleged domestic violence incident. Eight counts of domestic violence and assault were filed against Hickerson.
