Haryana Election Results: Most polls had predicted that the Congress would cross the majority mark in the Haryana Assembly.

The Aam Aadmi Party failed to prevail in the Haryana assembly elections as none of its candidates are in the lead in the 90 seats. Contrary to election result predictions, the Bharatiya Janata Party is leading in almost 50 of the 90 parliamentary seats.

According to the Election Commission, the BJP is leading in 48 seats as of 11.30 am. The Congress is leading with 36 seats. INLD is leading by one seat and BSP is also leading by one seat. Four independent candidates are ahead in their respective seats.

Most polls had predicted that the Congress would cross the majority mark in the Haryana Assembly. However, the BJP gave the Congress a tougher fight than expected.

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal led the BJP campaign after he was released on bail from Tihar Jail in the Delhi excise policy case. During his election campaign, he attacked the BJP for jailing him for over five months in the case.

AAP has won the Delhi assembly elections thrice – in 2013, 2015 and 2020. It later won the Delhi municipal elections.

In 2022, the AAP gained power in Punjab.

The party is trying to expand its presence in states like Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Gujarat. However, it failed to make a name for itself.

In Haryana, CM Nayab Singh Saini led from his Ladwa seat in Kurukshetra district.

Congress MP Bhupinder Singh Hooda was ahead of his rivals in Garhi Sampla-Kiloi constituency in Rohtak district.

BJP leader Anil Vij led from his Ambala Cantt seat. According to early trends, Indian National Lok Dal leader Abhay Singh Chautala was ahead in his Ellenabad constituency.

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala’s son Aditya Surjewala led from Kaithal seat.

These are early trends and final results may vary.
