Hallmark orders drama series “Ripple” for new streaming service

EXCLUSIVE: Hallmark+ has ordered the new one-hour drama series directly Ripplecreated by Michele Giannusa.

From Lionsgate TV, Ripple explores how unexpectedly connected we are as humans. In New York City, Nate, Kris, Walter and Aria have crossed paths hundreds of times, but they’ve never met. Through the seemingly insignificant decisions these four main characters make in the pilot episode, we witness the ripple effects that ensue when these strangers, each dealing with life’s challenges in their own way, find each other.

According to the streamer, “the message of this show is: just wait for the rainbow. Some of the best things in life can’t happen without the storm.” Ripple reinforces a message of hope and confidence that we are never alone, no matter what challenges we face.”

Joni Lefkowitz is the showrunner of the project. Production is set to begin in Toronto in September, with Amanda Tapping directing the first two episodes. Casting is currently underway.

“Michele and Joni have created a beautiful story that shows how interconnected we all are and reminds us that out of ordinary moments and hardships, the most extraordinary things can come. The way this show weaves together moments of sadness, joy and everything in between is a journey that is synonymous with our goals for Hallmark+ content – to provide a deep, enriching viewing journey that captivates our viewers episode after episode,” shared Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive Vice President, Programming, Hallmark Media.

Michele Giannusa, Joni Lefkowitz, Jocelyn Hamilton and Amanda Tapping will serve as executive producers Ripple.
