From portraying a super-powered mutant to an MMA fighter, Halle Berry has had her fair share of workplace accidents over the years.

The Oscar winner recently compared battle scars with her The Union co-star Mark Wahlberg as they talked about their dangerous experiences performing stunts in their many action films.

“I’ve been knocked down three times, broken an arm, broken ribs twice – once two ribs, another time three ribs – broken a tailbone, broken two toes and a finger. This finger,” Berry says, laughing in the Netflix clip, holding up her middle finger.

One such injury occurred on the set of 2003 Gothicwhen Berry broke a bone in her right forearm, delaying filming for several weeks. Three of her broken ribs were caused by John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019) and the other two came from their 2020 MMA drama Squeezedwhich also marked her directorial debut.

Wahlberg admitted that he too had been “battered” a few times, revealing that he had suffered a “torn meniscus, an acromioclavicular joint injury and several ego injuries.”

Berry plays the lead role in The UnionPremiering on August 16 on Netflix, as US secret agent Roxanne. Wahlberg plays her former high school love, construction worker Mike, whom she draws into a risky espionage mission.

In addition to her work as Storm in the X-Men Berry’s action franchise includes titles such as Swordfish (2001), Die another day (2002), Catwoman (2004) and Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017).
