Half-time hot takes: Jordan Poole will haunt us forever

The magicians have a fight. The Celtics had a bigger fight on their hands in the first 24 minutes than they did against the Knicks on Tuesday night, leading 64-54 at halftime.

So let’s get into some takes.

Jordan Poole will haunt me for the rest of my life.

“I’m not going to slander Jordan Poole any more… I’m done,” said Brian Scalabrine of NBC Sports Boston.

We all remember the 2022 final when Poole felt like he hit every shot he took.

Well, he did it tonight in the first quarter, scoring 17 first quarter points. At times he had more points than the Celtics.

However, sports reporters saying Poole has 17 points against the champs is so sick. I love this so much.

But I mean seriously, when is he going to stop this madness!

It doesn’t happen in every game, but he will always save a big game for the C’s. He had 31 points in a game against Boston last season.

And why did Scal criticize Drew Carter for not watching the Wizards when he mentioned Poole playing well at the end of last season? That wasn’t necessary.

NBC Sports Boston does not have to assign the score to the jerseys.

Just leave it green and white, why do they feel the need to change it because of the uniforms?

It’s just unnecessary, I don’t like it. ESPN does a much better job.

I’m not sure what it is, but I like it when ESPN does it, but NBC Sports Boston doesn’t have to do it too.

When NBC goes full NBA next year, will this be their scoring bug? These are the important questions we need to ask.

The Wizards didn’t make as many doubles, so the Celtics conceded fewer threes

If you don’t double, the Celtics won’t get as many open threes, meaning they’ll beat you by 30.

The Knicks doubled up all night on Tuesday, so the Celtics kept passing to the wide open player, resulting in 29 open threes. Washington didn’t double as often in the first half, so the Celtics took fewer threes.

Still, it’s a challenge to pick the poison because if you don’t double down on Jayson Tatum, he’ll cook you.

Due to the only coverage he saw, Tatum scored 20 points and 7 rebounds in the first half.

Joe loves a center

When it was announced that Sam Hauser wouldn’t play on Thursday night, many thought Jordan Walsh would take his spot in the rotation

But instead it was Neemias Queta who took the spot when Mazzulla decided to go big with Jonas Valanciunas on the court and he played well with 4 points and a rebound in three minutes of play.
