If you’re getting a Google Pixel 9, you might be tempted to order one of the new 45W USB-C chargers at the same time. The Pixel 9 only comes with a USB-C cable and no adapter to plug it into a wall outlet. Of course, you’ll want something that will charge your new phone as quickly as possible.

But just because Google talked about the 45W charger throughout its Pixel 9 marketing doesn’t mean it’s actually the best option. If you’re actually thinking about getting a Pixel 9 or Pixel 9 Pro, the 45W charger is probably a waste of money – especially if you already have Google’s 30W charger.
