Golfers at the University of Alabama get first glimpse of new world-class facility

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (WBRC) – Crimson Reserve. The new name of one of the finest facilities in all of college golf.

Just a few weeks ago, the university released a teaser video showing what the new venue will look like from the outside.

The men’s and women’s golf teams have been waiting patiently for the grand opening of their new golf facility and were able to get a taste of what it will look like during their “first look” on Friday.

“A lot of guys have worked hard. That’s how you separate yourself from the competition,” Alabama athletic director Greg Bryne said. “This is really, really exciting. Don’t take it for granted. It’s going to lead to great things today (Friday) and it’s going to lead to great things in the future. Congratulations to everybody.”

The players were impressed by the new facility.

“I knew this was going to be good, but…wow,” said a member of the Alabama women’s program.

Although no official “opening date” has been announced, the university announced earlier this summer that both programs were scheduled to move into the facility this fall.

The new facility is located just 800 m from the campus, extends over a 79-hectare site and offers an on-site obstacle course as well as several practice areas of all kinds.
