Germany will face France in the quarterfinals of the women’s basketball tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Wednesday, August 7. Both teams finished the group stage with two wins. Both teams also have American-born players on their rosters. Former WNBA player Alexis Peterson plays for Germany and former UCONN athlete Gabby Williams represents France due to her dual citizenship.

The winner will advance to the semifinals on August 9. (You can check out the standings for all the women’s teams to see who won and who didn’t advance.) Germany vs France will be played at the Bercy Arena in Paris and will be broadcast live on Peacock on Wednesday morning. 12 women’s basketball teams competed at the 2024 Olympics. As the host country, France was automatically qualified. The other qualified countries are listed below:
