George Pickens sends a not-so-subtle message in his eyes on Sunday Night Football

The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys duke it out on Sunday Night Football in Week 5 at Acrisure Stadium and wide receiver George Pickens managed to make a statement with his black eye.

As the Steelers wide receiver took the field in the first quarter, fans watching the NBC broadcast noticed that Pickens had a message written on his black eye.

After a close look at a still image of Pickens’ black eye, it was clear that the message read: “Open F—— Always.”

As a former second-round pick of the Steelers in 2022, the Georgia native has found plenty of room for his quarterbacks. After rushing for 801 yards and four touchdowns in his rookie season, Pickens had the best season of his career in 2023, totaling 63 receptions for 1,140 yards and five touchdowns.

What made his second season even more impressive was the fact that the Steelers were a complete mess at the quarterback position, with Kenny Pickett and Mitchell Trubisky struggling before Mason Rudolph provided some stability.

Through four games of the 2024 season with Justin Fields at the helm, Pickens has 284 receiving yards but has yet to find pay dirt. He’s coming off his best game of the year after finishing Week 4 with season highs in receptions (11) and receiving yards (113).

We’ll see if he can continue to be “Open F—— Always” in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys. As of this writing, he has one catch for eight yards.
