Fox announces major NFL broadcast change, with Greg Olsen getting another new partner and MLB playoff details confirmed

FOX has made another big change to its Week 6 NFL coverage, involving star commentator Greg Olsen.

The broadcaster has announced the broadcast pairings for the next round of games in the 2024 season.

And it’s about another new partner for Olsen, who was demoted from the top team to make room for Tom Brady.

Olsen previously worked with Kevin Burkhardt on Fox’s senior broadcast team.

This year he is part of the National Football League’s second team along with Joe Davis.

But with Davis playing in the Major League Baseball playoffs, former tight end Olsen got a new partner last week.

Fans loved the chemistry between Olsen and Jason Benetti in the Week 5 game between the Cleveland Browns and Washington Commanders.

“Jason Benetti-Greg Olsen performed as A-Team as a non-A-Team duo can,” one said.

“Why aren’t @jasonbenetti and @gregolsen88 the main stand? What a duo,” wrote another.

“While it kind of sucks that Olsen got ‘demoted,’ he’s working with the same great announcers this year,” another posted.

But the mating apparently only lasted a week, and Olsen got a new partner for week 6.

Olsen will be joined by Adam Amin in the locker room as the duo schedules the game between the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 1 p.m. ET.

It’s one of three games Fox has in Week 6 at 1 p.m. ET.

The network will also show the Arizona Cardinals at the Green Bay Packers and Cleveland Browns at the Philadelphia Eagles in the same window.

The top team of Burkhardt and Brady will be part of the showdown between the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys at 4:25 p.m. ET.

And Fox will also show the Atlanta Falcons at the Carolina Panthers at the same time.

The domino effect of Tom Brady

Tom Brady will take his place alongside Kevin Burkhardt on Fox’s top NFL announcing team.

And his arrival at the network set off a domino effect, with every other announcer moved down one spot.

That means Fox’s NFL coverage in 2024 will feature all-new broadcast pairings.

Greg Olsen, who previously worked alongside Burkhardt, will now be part of the No. 2 announcing team along with Joe Davis.

The other Fox pairings for 2024 are:

  • Adam Amin-Mark Sanchez
  • Kenny Albert-Jon Vilma
  • Kevin Kugler-Daryl Johnston
  • Chris Myers-Mark Schlereth

It’s a big Sunday for Fox with their NFL doubleheader week followed by an MLB playoff game.

MLB and Fox confirmed details for Game 1 of the National League Championship Series.

The New York Mets will visit either the Los Angeles Dodgers or the San Diego Padres.

And that game will begin at 8:15 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on Fox’s main channel, it has been confirmed.

That means it avoids a collision with the NFL double-header and gets the top billing in prime time, not FS1.

New York sports fans have the choice between the Mets game and the NBC Sunday Night Football matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and the New York Giants.
