Ryan Wedding, a former snowboarder who represented Canada at the 2002 Winter Olympics, is wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation after being charged with murder and other crimes.

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $50,000 “for information leading to the apprehension, detention and extradition” of Wedding, 43.

Wedding, who works for the FBI List of most wanted peopleis charged with “two counts of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, one count of conspiracy to export cocaine, one count of conducting an ongoing criminal enterprise, one count of murder in connection with an ongoing criminal enterprise and three counts of drug crime and…” attempted murder in Connection to an ongoing criminal enterprise and drug-related crime.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Central District of California released a statement on the matter, charging Wedding and 15 others with “alleged direction and participation” in a cross-border cocaine trafficking operation.

“A former Canadian Olympic snowboarder and 15 other defendants have been charged in a 16-count supplemental indictment for allegedly directing and participating in a transnational drug trafficking operation that routinely shipped hundreds of kilograms of cocaine from Colombia to Canada via Mexico and Southern California and other locations throughout the United States, and whose leaders staged several murders in furtherance of these drug crimes.”

Wedding is considered the “main defendant in the superseding indictment.” He and 34-year-old Andrew Clark are accused of murder in retaliation for an unpaid drug debt.

The explanation is as follows:

“…the organization resorted to violence – including multiple murders – to achieve its goals. Wedding and Clark allegedly ordered the murders of two family members in Ontario, Canada, on November 20, 2023, in retaliation for a stolen drug shipment. Another member of that family survived the shooting but suffered serious physical injuries, and Clark allegedly ordered the murders on May 18 In 2024 the murder of another victim because of a drug debt to … “

According to the Associated Press, citing federal records, Wedding was convicted in the United States in 2010 “of conspiracy to distribute cocaine” and sentenced to prison.

Wedding also has unresolved and separate drug trafficking charges in Canada dating back to 2015, according to Chris Leather, chief commissioner of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Wedding represented Canada in one event, the men’s parallel giant slalom, finishing 24th in Salt Lake City.
