LINCOLN, Nebraska (KOLN) – I hope everyone enjoyed the pleasant temperatures over the weekend, because we have a chance of reaching 32 degrees not just once or twice this week, but it could even be that way any of the next four days!

Additionally, there’s a good chance that temperatures will reach or exceed 90 degrees across most of the state. Expect mid to high 90s in western Nebraska and high 80s to low 90s in the central and eastern areas.

Not only will it be a hotter week than last, but a windier one as well. Expect gusts between 25 and 30 mph with isolated stronger winds Monday afternoon. Similar conditions are expected through Friday and perhaps even next Saturday.

Temperatures will continue to rise on Tuesday as a ridge continues to support above-average values. As a result, more temperatures above 30 degrees and fewer above 25 degrees are expected.

As for rain, there has been very, very little precipitation so far this month. Only a trace of rain has been reported in Lincoln and we may not see any rain until next weekend, and even then the chances are rather low. Elsewhere there could be as much as a tenth of rain by Friday, with chances also being low on Tuesday and Friday.

The heat will not last too long either, as temperatures of 27 degrees Celsius will return on Friday and next weekend.
